Happiness

Happiness is “a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.”

I recently lost my domain name “nilda.com” I’ve had it for about 15 years — I had prepaid for its auto renewal for 10 years (9 years ago), and because of a mix-up, it did not auto-renew, I missed the renewal date and it became available — I wasn’t worried, I simply didn’t think anyone would want my name as their domain name, I thought I could just get it back right away.

No can do babydoll

Someone who buys and sells domains as their business, snatched it, (okay, it was available and they bought it) and then tried to sell it back to me for something like $2,000 — They call it a “premium domain” because it had been registered for an extended period of time… Well, duh!

Needless to say, I felt less than happy about this. I went in search of a new domain – a new “domain name” for my name – I considered Nilda. guru, but decided on Nilda.me and Nilda.info, I figured I would try them both and see which one suits me best, as you can see the winner is NildaWellness.com. Yay!

After the mixup with the auto-renewal, I had zero desire to deal or even argue with my old hosting company — I mean really, between diapers, playground, meals, and nap schedules, who has time and energy to dispute or even attend to such things as renewing a domain name that I’ve had forever, and that was supposed to auto-renew… Grrrr!

Happiness

Back in my web designer days, I received that domain name as a gift. Needless to say, it was super special and I loved it. I was very happy with it. — I used it for personal websites as well as for my professional portfolio.

When I left the corporate world, I continued to use it professionally for freelance jobs, and then for Yoga classes and Yoga event announcements, for my blog, and for my healing business.

I feel very happy to have this space “my personal space online” to express and share my thoughts and experiences. After all these years and life’s transitions, some bits and pieces of that web gal, still remain.

We may perceive happiness attached to things or experiences. — I think happiness is more the resulting feeling left from an experience according to our own perception and expectations.

Losing my domain name was important to me, as it was getting a new one. My preference would have been to get my old domain back, yet as we change in life, we adapt to these changes and though still the same, we are different.

Being Happy

Deepak Chopra said, “In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.”

I find that Life is an endless process of change, learning, letting go, and finding yourself again and again through these changes.

If we allow ourselves, we can learn to find happiness and joy in each and every moment. — I am in this process.
