As I write these words, my BFF of 11 years (best furry friend, now 12), lies on the ground, hanging onto her last few breaths of life.
My heart is breaking
There are many questions running through my head:
- Could I have done something differently?
- Is it just her time to leave this beloved world?
- And if it is her time, then why is she still here hanging on…?
- What if I had done something differently?
- If she shows signs of improvement, does that mean she can get better and live even longer?
- If I move forward with euthanasia (the vet’s recommendation) am I giving up on her?
- Am I giving up any possible hope?
Is this hope for her or for me?
What is the point of being a reiki master, and a crystal practitioner, if I cannot do anything for her now when she needs it most???
Maybe because sometimes, it is just time and there is nothing else to be done.
She came into my life accidentally, (although I believe everything happens for a reason.) She brought so much joy and helped open my heart to welcome true love. Her mission was successful, she’s been my sidekick, my first baby (a furry one), and my soulmate.
How can someone be so attached to a dog, one may ask?
They have that effect on our humaneness, animals are pure souls, with a mission to help us people find puzzle pieces that will aid in our growth at many levels.
I am grateful for the many joys, the challenges, and the grand love this being of light has brought into my life.
Walk across the rainbow bridge baby girl, you will find some friends who have gone before us when you get there.
I will see you on the other side.
