Summer 2021

As I write this, I look back at the past few months, which have been an interesting experience:

  • June- losing my pet companion of 11+ years, in just a matter of days – my heart was crushed.
  • July- remodeling and packing up the place I’ve called home for 19 years and relocating my family to Texas, quite exciting and a great undertaking to say the least.
  • August- new to Texas and heard the news that my father had transitioned. The last thing I said to him was “the next time we talk, we’ll be in Texas” – I was in shock.
  • August-September- traveling to and from Mexico, to be with my family in the middle of c19 “BS” restrictions (BS – as defined by the urban dictionary.)
  • September-now- healing and recovering, an ongoing process…

I’ve heard many times the saying “Life doesn’t happen to us, it happens for us.” – Have you ever felt like you have been blindsided by a wave of events?

I am not a victim of life, I am a creator of my life experience

There are things I cannot control, yet what I can control is how I navigate through it all.

Needless to say, I cried a lot in Mexico, as well as during my travels, and after my return. I was quite emotional for a while.

A couple of days after being home, I felt unwell, (lack of sleep, lack of energy, loss of smell, achy joints, no appetite), I believe the physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion from traveling, and from the happenings over the past few months, contributed to this.

It all got to me, and it took me a couple of weeks to regain strength and energy – I was sleeping over 10 hours daily (when I finally was able to sleep), plus a few hours during the day. My body, mind, and heart needed rest so I could restore myself.

My husband is heaven-sent, he was there every minute of every day, watching over me, and taking care of our boy during this time. – What a blessed woman I am.

Emotions (energy in motion), are there for a purpose. Understanding their message can help us release them so we can propel them forward.

It is by feeling our emotions that we allow them to flow through

It can be a challenge, yet we can intentionally ease the journey, by allowing our emotions to flow vs holding them inside.

That brings me to today – as I look around, I feel truly grateful for the journey and the choices made along the way that have brought us to where we are now.

We are surrounded by nature’s beauty. I am in awe, and my heart is filled with joy every day, as I notice everything around me. There are huge grasshoppers – stunning, even though they keep ravishing the mint plant that made it here from San Diego – feral cats abound in the neighborhoods, families of deer stop and stare at us during our walks, longhorn cattle chasing after their rancher’s truck, the sound of cicadas and the birds singing, the squirrels leaping onto the trees talking – I never heard a squirrel talk before! And a milliard of insects flying around just doing their thing.

Nature speaks to us every single day, and I am grateful to be receptive to it and to notice it

We see tractors on the roads, we enjoyed a homecoming parade with horses, antique fire trucks, and a big rig pulling a float with kids. We also went to the Texas fair and rodeo, where we fed the animals with our hands – goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, a longhorn, and even a kangaroo (quite incredible to see, and super soft to the touch.)

Animals are truly astounding beings – nature never ceases to amaze – joy can be found in the littlest things if we just take a minute to notice and appreciate them. The Blue Damselfly featured in today’s blog’s photo, is about 1.25 inches long and maybe 1-2 millimeters wide, almost unnoticeable, yet simply majestic. I took this picture right outside our home.

Here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment. ❥

Healing a grieving heart is a process, like the ebb and flow of the ocean. We just need to be present, so we can surf the waves as we continue moving forward.

This is my life, my choice. I am the creator of my life experience. All I can say is how blessed and truly grateful I am.

We are beloved children of the universe. Joy, health, and abundance are our divine birthright. And as the beloved author and teacher Louise Hay would say, “All is well in my world, I am at peace with life.”

❥ Namaste

“The light in me honors and salutes the light within you.”
