Last week, was my first time away, alone, since my boy came along. – I visited The Great White North, a.k.a. Canada, eh!
I had the pleasure of attending a self-development, self-discovery, empowering, personal growth, and vision-defining class. — “Live your Bliss Workshop”
I met wonderful new people and reunited with friends I had met a few months back, during my trip to Utah.
The Journey
“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
– Andre Gide
Maintaining a Status Quo is generally defined as “keeping things the way they are” — I believe this is something most of us can relate to in life.
We get accustomed to how things are, and tend to live each day “lost in how we know things to be” perhaps without realizing it, we begin functioning in auto-mode. — “We don’t get what we want, because we tolerate what we get.”
It takes awareness and courage to take a look within, and evaluate where we are in life, and where we desire to be.
“Saying YES to your own dreams, takes bravery and hard work to do.”
Whispers of the Heart
The first step is becoming aware, of who we believe ourselves to be, and realizing who we really are.
Is there a difference? Perhaps.
Sometimes, as I said, we get accustomed to being and doing things a certain way. Are we functioning in auto-mode? — If so, how did we “decide” this? What is the belief that has defined who we are, and the way we present ourselves to the world?
If we are NOT in auto-mode, BRAVO for being present and aware!
Perhaps the challenge is to learn how to listen to the heart. That little voice inside that whispers our true desires.
Are we honoring it? Are we ignoring it? Can we recognize it?
It is exciting to be able to recognize who we truly are, and what our heart is saying.
The Heart of the Matter
A few facts about the heart, I find absolutely fascinating:
- The heart is the first functional organ to develop in the womb
- The heart’s input to the brain during stressful or negative emotions (as well as during happy and positive emotions) affects the brain’s process
Emotions affect brain function, influencing attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving.
This explains why we tend to act impulsively and make unwise choices when we are under stress.
The Key to the Heart
When we learn to generate Heart Coherence, by sustaining positive emotions, it benefits the body and affects how we perceive, think, feel, and perform.
Finding balance and connection between what our heart dictates, and the life we live every day can help us launch into an amazing journey of self-discovery, growth, and self-realization.
This personal journey can help unleash our individual potential for inspired action. Following our heart’s desire, can bring us to live a purpose-driven life and allow us to fulfill our dreams by enjoying a blessed life. — Live Your Bliss!
